Q: Can the starter be wired positive ground? A: The WPS (black) starter can be changed, the UniPoint (gold) cannot be easily changed. Reverse polarity only requires moving the magnets one position clockwise or counterclockwise from their positions.
Q: What modifications are required to fit the starter to an R3 or T150? A: The starter fits the R3 without modifications. The T150 needs a small amount of metal removed from the gearbox flange. See photo.
Q: How can I seal the rockerbox cover pillar bolts? A: Counter bore the cover 0.050" with a 7/16" end mill and use a 5/16" ID x 1/16" O-ring. See photo.
Q: Why use 911 type adjusters? A: Radius tip adjusters have a point contact so the contact load is extremely high. The 911 (or MB190) swivel base adjuster covers the entire top of the valve with a flat surface eliminating the galling of the valve and adjuster. Use T160 valves or shorten the valves by 0.25". Mushroom adjusters need lash caps which add expense. See photo.
